How it works

The UF 2000 uses a precision Z/θ stage mechanism to align the wafer with the probe card and bring the probes into contact with each die. A wafer is loaded from a cassette, pre-aligned, and then transported to the chuck using dual robotic arms. The system includes a capacitive non-contact displacement sensor and dual X/Y moiré scales for accurate positioning.[4][5]

The prober achieves a placement precision of ±1.5 µm. The environment temperature is precisely controllable, and the chuck can be configured as a low-temperature or hot-temperature chuck, allowing testing from -40 °C to +150 °C. An optional ARTS-HS chiller unit provides rapid thermal cycling. The user interface includes a color LCD control panel with touch-screen switches.[4][5]

Applications

Additional application-specific options include a dual-lifter for increased productivity, a multi-site parallel probing option (up to 128 DUTs), and a probe-mark inspection option. The system can be configured with a cleaning unit for probe needles and a wafer ID recognition system for tracking.[1][5]
